Zombie Bear MCAL

Once there was a bear, he was a very cute and cuddly bear. He went to the Halloween shop to find the perfect costume. He decided he really wanted to be a zombie this year. At the Halloween shop, there was an old lady bear, she brought him to the back of the shop to try on his costume. When the old lady bear closed the door, she began chanting words that he didn’t understand. He saw a blinding white light, then she was gone. When he looked in the mirror he screamed, this was not just a Halloween costume, the old lady bear turned him into a ZOMBIE!

The finished size of your Zombie Bear will be about 11 inches. Your size will vary depending on the yarn you choose, the crochet hook you choose, and your tension while crocheting. I used worsted weight yarn and a size D hook to get my Zombie Bear to 11 inches.

I will post clues on Ravelry in pdf form, in my Ravelry Group, on my blog, and on my Facebook page in the notes.

Using the desired color, embroider your bear’s nose and mouth. You can click the link above to see how I made my bear’s nose and mouth. You can also see a photo tutorial of how I make my animal’s noses and mouths HERE.

You are all done with your fifth clue! Assembly Instructions will be on Monday, October 17th, 2016.

It is finally time to assemble your Zombie Bear!

Step 1 - With your yarn needle, sew the remaining hole in the head closed.

Step 2 ~ With your yarn needle, and tails left from the eye piece, sew the eye piece into place (the white should be at the top).

Step 3 ~ With your yarn needle and the tail of the body, sew the head and body together.
Make sure your eye(s) is facing the right direction before sewing. You can use pins to hold the head and body in place while you sew.

Step 4 ~ With your yarn needle and the tail from each arm, sew the arms onto the side of the body, 2-3 rounds below the last round of the body.

Step 5 ~ With your yarn needle and the tail from each leg, sew legs into place, on the bottom of the body. I sewed the legs pointing away from the nose (as pictured).

Step 6 ~ With your yarn needle and the remaining tail from the belly piece, sew into place.

Step 7 ~ With your yarn needle and the remaining tail from the heart, sew onto the top side of the body - part over the body and part over the belly piece.

Step 8 ~ With your yarn needle and the tail from each ear, sew onto the top of the bear’s head. My bear’s ears are sewn between Rnds 17 & 18.

Step 9 ~ With your yarn needle, sew the tail
onto the bottom/back of the bear’s body.

Step 10 ~ With Yarn Color F and your yarn needle,
make stitches going through the bear’s heart and body.

Step 11 ~ With Yarn Color F and your yarn needle, make stitches in random places on your bear.
